My training, riding and coaching are all based on the correct principles of the training scale: rhythm, suppleness, contact, impulsion, straightness and collection. This guides us in a very clear way to develop the horses and ourselves in a systematic and progressive system.

I truly believe that correct dressage training can help every rider and horse. It is not just about competing or having the horse with the perfect conformation and age, it is about going on an amazing journey with our incredible horses and exploring where the training can take us. Frequently Asked Questions
My horse is unsettled in new environments, do you have somewhere I can do groundwork before I mount?
Yes, we have an enclosed outdoor arena that you can use. You are welcome to arrive up to 45 minutes before your lesson to give yourself time to unload, saddle up and do some groundwork/lunge or ridden warm up in a relaxed setting.
I am an experienced rider but I have lost my confidence, is Anna able to help me?
We all go through different stages of confidence in ourselves and our horse riding including apprehension, uncertainty and fear. Whether it's because you are returning to riding after having children, recovering after an accident or simply getting older, Anna has the ability and skills to get you back on track during her fun and self-paced sessions. She offers groundwork lessons to begin and walk only ridden lessons until you are ready to advance up the levels. Anna would love to help you build your confidence again so you can enjoy your riding with enthusiasm, not dread.
I don't own my own horse, can Anna still give me lessons?
Anna has an exciting new initiative teaching unmounted theory lessons and demonstrating school figures and exercises on her own well educated horses. Even though you don't own your own horse (or if your horse is still young or injured etc.) you are welcome to attend. Each session will be social and full of great information on different topics including: 'Unpacking School Figures', 'What to look for when buying a new horse', 'Show Preparation' and more... Stay tuned for dates so you can join Anna's Newforge Stables Country Club for riders.
Do I get charged if I cancel my lesson?
Lessons can be cancelled or postponed 3 hours before the scheduled time without incurring a 50% cancellation fee. This gives time for Anna to refill the vacancy. No shows will be charged 50% of their lesson fee unless the student is able to refill the position with another rider or you have a medical certificate from a vet or doctor. We understand horses are unpredictable but if you have known float loading issues please notify Anna when booking your lesson.
What happens if I run late to my lesson?
As Anna is very busy coaching, riding and training her own horses and attending to property maintenance, it is very important to arrive with ample time to unload, saddle and prepare for your lesson. Sometimes issues do arise though and riders do run late but unfortunately your lesson will be cut short and will still need to conclude at the original end time. If you are running late please message/contact Anna.
Can I bring my family and friends to watch my lesson?
As we have limited space and to consider other riders comfort and concentration we only allow one friend/family member to accompany you at a lesson. If you require more people to attend your private lesson this will need to be arranged with Anna before arriving for your lesson. Only private lessons can be filmed to protect the privacy of other riders.
Do I need to bring my friends to have a shared or group lesson?
We offer a 'Shared Lesson' with two riders or 'Group Lessons' with a maximum of four riders at a similar level of riding. You can ask your friends if they would like to book a lesson at the same time, or we can slot you into another group and you will have the opportunity to meet new friends.
